Russel: Good music comes in waves, periods when people inspire each other. The Bees, Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, Roots Manuva. All good.
What do you have planned for 2005?
Murdoc: We’ve just about finished our new album.
2D: And we’re working on a killer live show.
Murdoc: It’ll shove a big musical fist right through the back of your head and pull your brains out through your teeth.
Who’s your favourite British icon?
2D: Kill all icons!
Russel: Erice Morecombe. To be recognised just for wearing glasses – that’s an icon.
What do you misss when you’re abroad?
2D: hanging out in the Arndale Centre. And bombing around car parks in shopping trolleys, mashed off my clackers.
What don’t you miss?
2D: Getting beaten up by glueheads on the beach.
What five words best describe Britishness?
2D: The White Cliffs of Dover, pitbulls, B&H, Pringle tops and Vauxhall motors.
Murdoc: That’s The Streets’ next album covered then.
Who’s your favourite British artist?
Russel: Stanley Kubrick. He produced incredible films in all different genres.
2D: Kubrick was American, Russ. He just lived here.
